The ambition and motivations behind the creation of the preparatory cycle is to offer students the basic notions, concepts and tools essential for the profession of a digital engineer. This preparatory cycle gives primordial importance to algorithmic design. Mastery of such a tool is the main key to writing optimal solutions for any problem arising from different areas of the digital world. Mastery of such a tool envisages the acquisition of mathematical skills in each of the areas: Analysis, Numerical Analysis, General Algebra, Linear Algebra. Being equipped with skills in analysis and digital analysis will allow the future digital engineer to properly design and evaluate the complexities of their solutions.

On the other hand, highlighting the mathematical educational content throughout the two preparatory years is with the objective of shaping the student's mind in order to be able to follow the courses making up the engineering cycle. Indeed, the engineering sectors adopted are interested in signal, image and video processing, in the localization of robots, in the control of humanoid robots, in the automatic processing of natural languages, in the processing of massive data. , etc. All of its fields require calculation skills in IR, the calculation of simple and generalized integrals, statistics and probability, differential equations, etc.

Teaching throughout this preparatory cycle takes place in the form of lectures, tutorials, practical work as well as personal work and projects.

This preparatory cycle of the Euro-Med School of Digital Engineering and Artificial Intelligence introduces students from the first years of their university career to teaching units which focus on digital and which are technically advanced. Indeed, throughout the two years, students will learn a diversity of programming languages, the design, simulation and assembly of analog and digital circuits, the configuration of Unix single-core machines as well as Shell programming. Such programming is accompanied by the teaching unit around computer networks and associated technologies. Such a teaching unit is illustrated by examples and practical work in the context of remote communication with robots.

Finally, and with the aim of creating solid bridges towards the engineering cycle, the preparatory years introduce students to web technologies through two teaching units which focus on the design and creation of databases and on basic technologies necessary for creating dynamic web applications. These two units represent an asset for the student to complete his studies in the preparatory cycle with an internship in national and international web development companies. Such an internship is the ideal opportunity for the student to get to know the environment of a company in the digital world. Such an opportunity would be a plus and a first projection in the engineering sector dedicated to web technologies.
