[IA] Official launch of the “Women in Sciences” chair

After the signing of an agreement between the UEMF and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) on May 17 for the establishment of a “Women in Sciences” chair, in the field of Artificial Intelligence, both parties today celebrated the official launch of this project. 

This chair is headed by Pr. Maha Gmira, teacher at EIDIA and holder of a doctorate from École Polytechnique de Montréal, in one of the world centers of excellence on AI, data science for real-time decision making IVADO, CIRRELT, GERAD, etc. and MILA led by Prof. Yoshua Bengio.

With the objective of strengthening the contribution of women in digital and attracting doctoral students to carry out research projects in this area, the chair aims to be a starting point for the launch of projects with high added value at the African-Euro-Mediterranean scale.
